Follow these easy steps to get your Zanussi ZD 50/17 RN Refrigerator up and running in no time.

1. Unpacking and Initial Setup

Remove all securing tapes and packaging materials from the refrigerator. Ensure that all locks or catches are removed to prevent young children from being trapped inside.

2. Cleaning Before Use

Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid using detergents or abrasive powders as they can leave a strong smell.

3. Positioning

Place the refrigerator in a cool, well-ventilated room, away from sources of heat such as radiators or boilers. Ensure that air openings are not obstructed for proper ventilation.

4. Electrical Connection

Connect the refrigerator to a power supply with a voltage of 220-240 V / 50 Hz. Ensure the appliance is left for 2 hours after installation before it is turned on, allowing the refrigerant to settle.

5. Setting the Temperature

The temperature inside the refrigerator is controlled by a thermostat with 6 positions plus an 'OFF' (O) position. Position 1 is the minimum coldness, and position 6 is the maximum coldness. Generally, the intermediate setting (3-4) is most suitable.

6. Initial Operation

When first starting up or after a period of non-use, let the appliance run for at least two hours on the coldest setting before placing any products inside. Then, adjust the thermostat to the normal operating position.

7. Energy-Saving Tips

To save energy, avoid installing the appliance close to heat sources, pack all food items into airtight packages, and always cool warm food to room temperature before placing it in the fridge.
